Join the world's largest mosquito surveillance network by participating in the Mosquito Alert app. Through this platform, you can contribute to the study and monitoring of invasive mosquitoes and those of epidemiological interest. Your reports of mosquito observations and breeding sites, as well as keeping track of mosquito bites, play a crucial role.

Your shared observations provide valuable information for scientists conducting research to deepen their understanding of mosquito ecology, disease transmission, and ultimately improve mosquito management strategies.

Mosquito Alert is a citizen science initiative coordinated by several public research centers including CEAB-CSIC, UPF, and CREAF. The project aims to investigate, monitor, and combat the spread of disease-carrying mosquitoes.

With Mosquito Alert app, you can:

• Report the presence of five mosquito species: the tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus), yellow fever mosquito (Aedes aegypti), Asian bush mosquito (Aedes japonicus), Aedes koreicus, and common house mosquito (Culex pipiens).
• Identify breeding sites in your area.
• Report when you experience a mosquito bite.
• Assist in validating photos submitted by other participants.

A community of more than 50 international expert entomologists will verify the photos uploaded to the platform, enhancing your ability to identify mosquito species relevant to public health. All observations are publicly accessible on the Mosquito Alert map website for viewing, downloading, and exploring participant-contributed models.
